Top FastPass+ Picks @ Disney's Magic Kingdom

When it comes to planning your magical Walt Disney World Vacation, your Disney specialized travel agent will ask you which FastPass+ Reservations you would like to make 60 days ahead of time!  Now, I know what you're thinking, how could you possibly know what your family will want to ride 2 months before you travel???

As we plan out your FastPass+ picks, the age group of your family comes into play here.  We want to ensure that your family can enjoy the attractions that they want to.  At the Magic Kingdom, there are no tiers at play (check out the blog posts on Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT for more information on FastPass+ Tiers).  Without tiers, planning can be a struggle, but also can help to ensure that you get reservations for the top attractions!  There are currently 28 attractions at the Magic Kingdom to choose from, which can make it extremely difficult to decide.

So, we have compiled a list of the top 5 FastPass+ picks at the Magic Kingdom, check them out below!

1.  Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

This is Magic Kingdom's latest big-ticket item and continues to draw large crowds.  During the summer months, the wait time for this attraction can reach 90-120 minutes.  Being able to jump to the front of the line can save precious park time.

2. Peter Pan's Flight

This attraction continues to be a must-do for Disney families!  Since opening day, guests have been streaming in for a ride on the flying pirate ship and that continues today.  With the addition of a brand new interactive queue, waiting in the stand-by line has become a more enjoyable event when guests reach the nursery and can create their own shadows, watch Peter’s shadow or see Tinker Bell as she flies about the room moving objects and squeezing into tight spaces.  Again, stand-by lines can reach close to 2 hours during the busy months, so a FastPass+ can leave more time for visiting those favorite Disney Princesses.

3.  Space Mountain

Space Mountain continues to be a fan-favorite at Magic Kingdom.  Located in Tomorrowland, guests are whisked away to fly into the dark of space and whip around the stars.  Another interactive queue awaits guests, but thankfully, there are times when the stand-by line is definitely doable. There are, however, other times when you can expect the lines to be much longer, specifically during the afternoon times. If Space Mountain is your favorite, you can also plan on riding within the early hours of the day when the lines are shorter and then book your FastPass+ for later to ensure you can ride more than once.

4. Splash Mountain

I remember as a kid that I could watch the log-flumes plummet down the 5-story waterfall for hours!  Where you can easily walk onto this attraction during the cooler months (or late night during the summer), mid-day on those hotter days is a different story.  Many guests are looking to cool off and get soaked in the middle of the day, so a FastPass+ for that time is ideal.

5. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

I always called this attraction the runaway train when I was younger (and occasionally still do)!  The wildest ride in the wilderness, and final mountain on the list, will often see long wait times, especially in the summer. This mountain is a great attraction to use a FastPass for especially if you are not able to get passes for attractions at the top of this list.
